SOP - Application for ASPIR2E Pre-Matriculation Program (Track 3)—Online Application - Summer 2023

The ASPIR2E Pre-Matriculation Program is designed to help first-year PharmD students successfully transition to the rigors of the PharmD education and life as a professional student pharmacist. Applicants who are selected to participate in the program are expected to fully engage in the 6-week program and commit to completing it. Please note participating in this program occurs before you enroll and matriculate in the Rangel School of Pharmacy. Any scores you earn during this program do not transfer when you matriculate and does not guarantee that you will complete the first year with any pre-determined grades.

All admitted Class of 2027 students may apply and 40 students will be selected to participate. Priority will be given to underrepresented minority students, students who indicate they earned a non-science undergraduate degree, have been out of school for a substantial period, are changing professions, are a first-generation college student, or possess an educational background that puts them at a disadvantage. If seats remain, they will be filled based on the interest and needs expressed by the applicants.

The program is six weeks long. The first week of the program will be held on campus and the remaining 5 weeks will be held online. When on campus, housing and food will be provided. There is no cost to participate.
